Gorakhpur Railway Station is getting a major upgrade as a modern multi-level parking facility is being developed. North Eastern Railway is executing this project to transform the station into a ‘City Center’ under the Amrit Bharat Scheme. While construction is in the final stages, some existing parking areas have been closed to facilitate the work.
What is the opening schedule for the new parking
The ground floor of the multi-level parking is expected to start operations within a week from June 9, 2026. The first floor is likely to be operational around June 18-20, 2026. Additionally, a 2500 square meter parking area near the cab-way at the main entrance will also open for passengers shortly.
What are the new entry and exit rules for vehicles
To manage traffic during construction, the railway authorities have implemented specific entry and exit points. Gate number 6 will be the dedicated entry for the multi-level parking. For pick-and-drop services, vehicles can enter through Gate number 5 and exit through Gate number 4. RPF and Railway Police personnel have been deployed to guide passengers.
